1931 Chevrolet Sport Roadster, with Twin Sidemounts and Rumble Seat
This rare, Canadian-built, 1931 Chevrolet Sport Roadster was enjoyed during the summer months by her original owner and stored during the winter months. In 1958, it went to a new owner and has been in the same family ever since. The odometer shows 67,303 original miles.
The car is in original condition (the head has never been off the engine!) and the only restoration work done was:
- A repaint in the early 90′s in the original colour, using factory-correct paint. This was done only because the original paint was getting thin.
- The upholstery, top, and side curtains were redone using the original style, colour, and materials. The originals were used as patterns and are available with the car.
The second rear brake light and directional signals were added in recent years and are factory-correct pieces.
The car has been featured in a number of TV shows and movies, including the Canadian series, Wind At My Back.
1931 Chevrolets featured a 50hp Straight-6, a three-speed manual transmission, and 4-wheel drum brakes. This particular car features several options, including the twin sidemounts with rearview mirrors, cowl lights, and twin bar bumpers.
This car is as close to original as you will find outside of a museum. Canadian Chevrolets are rare and ones that have never seen a winter are even rarer!
